
I’m going to do something new in 2025 – I’m going to write a book “The Agency of You” and share the work-in-progress pages here for friends to preview and give feedback.
What is “The Agency of You”? I believe that technologies like Generative AI will increasingly enable ambitious marketers to handle multiple job roles with ease. For example, a marketer who excels not only in advertising, but also in social media, internal comms and public relations. Literally, a one-person marketing agency but without the traditional stress or baggage.
To be clear, I’m not referring to people who are forced by lousy managers to do multiple jobs for the salary of one, but rather to those who want to grow their skills in multiple areas of the marketing field to amplify their impact and results.
This marketer could be working at a start-up, an SME, or a large organization. They may be seeking to understand the fundamentals of the various roles they aspire to play but lack the right mentor or coach in their organization. This is where I believe my experience and skills can help.
The book will focus on imparting the fundamentals of effective marketing and communications in today’s workplace. A key challenge is to make it easy to read and not feel like a boring textbook. My plan is to share draft pages on LinkedIn to spread knowledge and gather crowd-sourced feedback. Of course, my plan is still a bit chaotic right now, but I’ve decided to get started by showing you a draft cover.
