Trying out something new today – combining calligraphy with AI art.
My steps:
- I was thinking of pointillism art, so I got Midjourney to generate a pointy cat. Then I expanded the image to the right so I would have some space for placing text.
- I used this sage quote from Kevin Kelly’s book “Excellent Advice For Living” – “Be strict with yourself, forgiving of others. The reverse is hell for everyone.”
- On Procreate on my iPad, I designed a brush that mimicked the calligraphy pen that I have in real life, with a medium flat nib.
- I imported the cat image and wrote the text in an overlay. I adjusted the blend mode of the text layer so the colors would gel nicely.
Just another example of how we can work together with AI while retaining our humanity. Hmm, need to try using other fonts in my calligraphy.
