According to Similarweb, ChatGPT is now the 11th most popular website in the world: “ChatGPT has been topping its web traffic records for months now, with September 2024 traffic up 112% year-over-year (YoY) to 3.1 billion visits, according to Similarweb estimates.”
It’s still a far cry from Google at 82 billion visits, but think about it – how many people are now using ChatGPT for work or school?
That said, what I’ve observed in my Gen AI workshops is that many people use ChatGPT or other Gen AI apps at a superficial level – they often use it as a search engine like Google. But that’s not using a large language model for its strengths. Feed ChatGPT some quality data and start asking questions about the data!
