Spent the past three hours playing around with Flux, the new AI imaging model made by former Stable Diffusion employees.
The prompt: “2D mosaic of rooster, red blue and yellow tiles, white plaster background, yellow sun, white clouds”.
Flux is free to use, is faithful to text prompts and runs locally on your computer. However, most people will not be able to run it as it requires lots of RAM (I recommend at least 32GB) and a powerful GPU (eg. Nvidia RTX 4080). It also uses the complicated ComfyUI platform that looks like a mess of spaghetti on your screen.
This is the true heir to Stable Diffusion (which seems to have imploded as a company) and it’s fun to create AI Art for free again, instead of paying for Midjourney. However, I think Midjourney still has the edge for now in terms of image quality and speed of rendering.
