From PPT mockup to AI App

VISUALISING YOUR AI APP: For over 20 years, I’ve been doing simple visual mockups in PowerPoint to show colleagues and clients my creative ideas, marketing event setups, e-commerce website designs, and many more things. Today, I use the same approach to create apps with Gen AI to solve problems or demonstrate concepts in class.

1️⃣ First, in PowerPoint, I use shapes and text to construct an image of the app in my mind.

2️⃣ Then I upload the image to Google Gemini or Google AI Studio, and write the prompt to describe how the app should work.

3️⃣ Usually, I get a working app that is about 80% of what I imagined, and then I spend the next 30 minutes or so iterating my prompts to finetune the app’s interface.

If the app layout needs tweaking, I create another visual mockup and feed it to the AI to figure it out.

This process is similar to wireframing for UI/UX designers. You need to give AI a clear picture of what you are talking about, and all you really need is PowerPoint and clarity of mind.
