Google made Gemini 4 Argon available today, and I didn’t really know how to test it. I went for a jog in the haze, and had a hazy idea (geddit?) to create an app that would animate the cartoon version of me (using the ChatGPT character visuals that I created earlier this week). The animations would be 3, 5, or 7 seconds long and could be used in my social media posts or as WhatsApp stickers.
After one hour of iteration and S$12 worth of tokens later in Google AI Studio, here’s the app and its animation output. Not perfect, but good enough for now. Cartoon Ian is a little too fat for my liking. The app can generate short web animations with transparent backgrounds in multiple formats (GIF, WebP, APNG, WebM). All I need to do is to type a prompt and it’ll do the rest.
Hmm, I don’t know if I want to spend more money to slim Cartoon Ian down.
