Gen AI talk at SingHealth Comms Summit

Last Friday (5th April), I had the honour of giving a talk on Generative AI to communication professionals from SingHealth, Singapore’s largest group of healthcare institutions.

I joked with the audience that I had been given the toughest speaking slot, as it was right before lunchtime. Moreover, I didn’t want to make them lose their appetite, given that Gen AI has been causing a lot of concern among communicators.

So, I showed them a few ways in which Gen AI was blowing the minds of the masses and pulled back the curtain to reveal that humans are still needed behind the scenes to make effective use of Gen AI content.

People tend to forget that Gen AI tools are also known as large language models, and who better to wield language than a communication professional?

Thank you to Melvin Tan for inviting me, and to Ravi Chandran and his colleagues for being great hosts!

FYI, SingHealth comprises Singapore General Hospital, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Changi General Hospital, Sengkang General Hospital, SingHealth Community Hospitals, SingHealth polyclinics, National Cancer Centre Singapore, National Dental Centre Singapore, National Heart Centre Singapore, National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore National Eye Centre.
