When Susan Ng invited me to her Saturday radio show Family Ties, I was happy that it would be a live, in-person interview.
“I really don’t like to call in over Zoom, it’s just not the same” I told her. We readily agreed that face-to-face communication is always more meaningful than online calls.
(How could it be otherwise? She’s a veteran radio personality, and communications is my bread and butter).
During the show, we discussed why parents need to wake up to the risks of excessive screen time for toddlers and kids. I always get upset when I see toddlers in strollers transfixed by an iPad or phone. It’s not just a pet peeve; there’s mounting research showing that this is very bad for one’s physical and mental development, and I don’t have to tell you the obvious – excessive phone use is causing all sorts of mental and health problems for people of all ages.
Please see the links for her 10th Aug radio show and the CNA commentary I wrote in July on this topic.
