Thank you to the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) for the opportunity to conduct a Gen AI vibe coding session during their MAS Transformation Day 2026 today!
In just a few minutes and using the free Gemini app, I showed how we could create a calorie-counting app and turned the MAS Money Supply statistics into a colourful dashboard with data insights. I also showed them how Claude Cowork might just remove the need for us to create long MS Word documents manually.
MAS is very forward-looking in its deployment of AI across the organisation. Their managing director Mr Chia Der Jiun shared how employees have flexibility in the AI apps that they can use, and how the organisation is ready to help them evolve their personal innovations into secure team solutions. This is a contrast to many private sector companies that I’ve seen which are smaller than MAS, but very stifling in their AI usage policies.
I was also inspired by the energy and passion of GovTech Singapore’s Nicole Lee and Akilesh Jayakumar, fellow guests who brought their AI solutions to life for the MAS staff. There’s nothing like youthful energy multiplied by the possibilities of AI.
