PATIENCE – this is the key ingredient in creating content that stands out from the crowd, especially in the age of Gen AI.
The iterative process of working on any idea always takes time. Creative content simply does not happen in a flash, it takes a lot of back and forth – first in your mind, then as you start to create. The final output may fulfill your vision, or it may veer off in another direction.
The same goes for making creative content with Gen AI. In today’s example, the process started with me wanting to create “Mr Augmented Worker” after dinner.
1️⃣I doodled on my iPad and came up with a rough sketch.
2️⃣Then I uploaded the sketch to ChatGPT Sora and prompted: “Man in business suit with six arms, fiery backdrop”. Hmm, too fierce.
3️⃣I toned down the image: “Low poly 3D artwork of heroic man in business suit with six arms, radiating waves of power in the background”. The image still didn’t have the impact and contrast I wanted, so I prompted in different ways to explore the different outputs.
🔴This is where the Patience part comes in – each image currently takes 3-4 minutes to generate, so you should do something else while you wait.
4️⃣By the 8th output, I was satisfied. Mr Augmented Worker had a different pose and face from my original sketch, but it was better as a visual!
When you use Gen AI, you cannot let your ego or your old ways dictate your output. Instead, you have to go with the flow and explore the different directions that the machine unlocks. Such is the way of the Augmented Worker.
(Side note: I’ve always been resistant to using emojis in my post, but I’m trying them out today to help make the bullet points more visible. Let me know what you think!)
