
Cut the crap if you want to write well.
My sifu, Stephen King, reminded me of this truth when I flipped open his book “On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft.” This screenshot is from his “Second Foreword.”
It’s funny. I had already planned to make Strunk and White’s “The Elements of Style” required reading for the “Basic Media Writing” course at NTU, starting in August. Mr. King assured me it was the right decision.
