The best thing to happen to YouTube: Instant AI Summaries!
If you want to get a summary of the YouTube video’s content, click on the “Ask” button with the Gemini logo, and a chat box opens up so you can write a prompt like “summarise”. You can also do other queries like “Tell me more about X in the video”.
I used to have to do this the manual way: Click on “Transcript” button, remove timestamps, copy the transcript, then paste the text into ChatGPT or Gemini and prompt for a summary. These four steps have all been replaced by this singular step.
This is especially useful for videos that run for many minutes. For example, the Diary of A CEO can run for over two hours. I don’t have enough time in the day for that! Perhaps this new AI feature will convince YouTubers to restrain themselves when creating long-form content.
