I found a new use for ChatGPT today. I was driving to meet some friends, and was thinking that I had not updated my journal for many weeks.
So, I activated the ChatGPT app, pressed the headphones icon to start a voice chat, and asked it to transcribe my ramblings.
Later in the day, I cut and pasted the transcription into my journal. This is similar to how people used tape recorders in the past, except that ChatGPT does all the typing for me.
Naturally, the dictated text will not sound as polished as my usual writing where I spend a lot of time editing the text. But journals aren’t meant for public consumption, they are meant to capture fleeting thoughts and emotions.
