Claude Projects x Ray Dalio

I’m late to the game. I only started using Claude AI’s ‘Projects’ feature today (it was launched in July). This is akin to creating GPTs in the paid version of ChatGPT, where you can upload data and query it repeatedly.

I uploaded Ray Dalio’s “The Great Powers Index 2024”, an incredibly-detailed 186-page report that analyzes 35 major countries’ economic health and future prospects. I extracted Singapore’s data and generated this nice infographic.

The downside of Claude’s infographics is that they are hard to export for casual users. This infographic was created with the React coding language and could not be saved as a JPG. So, I took a screenshot instead. Claude cheerfully suggested that I could rebuild the infographic in Canva or Powerpoint (I already knew that, Claude!)

The Dalio report was just published today and it’s a great resource for data nerds. Do download it from Ray Dalio’s Principles website. Some key findings:

  • Five forces shape the global order: internal stability, international relations, economic systems, natural forces, and technology.
  • Major concerns: growing internal conflicts, US-China tensions, and record-high government debt.
  • Emerging markets like India and Indonesia lead projected growth rates.
  • Developed nations face challenges from aging populations and slower growth.
  • National success depends on productivity, competitiveness, and cultural factors.
