Recently, some people have been posting how ChatGPT makes inaccurate world maps and then kicking up a fuss about it. Well, if you know how Gen AI imaging works, you would know that it’s not able to make precise diagrams or charts. Generative AI uses its training knowledge to produce an INTERPRETATION of the image you requested, rather than retrieving an exact or factual representation.
I’ve created this visual using ChatGPT to demonstrate this concept. I know that ChatGPT cannot generate an accurate map, but it can generate an IDEA of a map, fill it in with my chosen words, and depict it as a stained glass window in a church.
Anyway, if you want a proper map, just use relevant apps such as Google Maps or Google Earth, or use Wikipedia. Choose the right tools for your needs.
