There’s been a spate of AI manifestos from CEOs of tech-oriented firms, and they signal what’s to come in our workplaces. This week, I shared the Fiverr manifesto: “If you do not become an exceptional talent at what you do, a master, you will face the need for a career change in a matter of months.”

Duolingo: “AI use will be part of what we look for in hiring”
Shopify: “Using AI effectively is now a fundamental expectation of everyone at Shopify.”
Section AI: “Do not be an AI Freeloader. Be an AI Manager.”
My guess is that most CEOs will not be able to write such a manifesto because they haven’t been using Gen AI regularly like those mentioned above.
But don’t wait for management to figure things out. Upskill yourself by using and exploring AI tools. When you go job-hunting, look for forward-thinking management who are willing to adapt their business in the light of Gen AI. Don’t tell yourself “maybe tomorrow” because you have a once-every-Industrial-Revolution chance to get ahead of the curve before most people.

This list of prompts was written by students and shared by OpenAI. I find the prompts useful for adults too.
Employers want to hire people with communication skills, but how do we define such skills?
Use ChatGPT to help you read complex nutritional labels and become more aware about the ingredients of ultraprocessed food.
