OpenAI just launched AgentKit, a suite of tools for building and deploying agents. One of the tools is Agent Builder, which you see in the screenshot here, that allows you to build workflows visually with multiple AI agents and tools.
- I tried out the sample Agent Builder templates and built a simple workflow, but most of them aren’t working yet (probably teething problems).
- It looks easy to use, but it’s not. You really need to have some basic coding knowledge to fill in the settings for each agent. This is why I keep telling my AI workshop participants to pick up some basic Python literacy and know what’s a “JSON” code.
- AI companies like N8N which offer similar agent building tools are probably panicking right now. The big boys often roll out features that can crush your startup’s unique selling point.
I foresee that I’ll have to teach this to my Advanced AI workshop participants in the coming months.
