I just made this animation and it is 90% AI-generated. You can do the same too, even if you have no design background. All you need is your intent and your creativity.
Here’s what I did:
1. Create still image in Midjourney.
2. Animate image in Runway using their latest Image to Video feature.
3. Create animated text in Adobe Express (you can also use Canva).
Background: The idea for the still image came when I was designing a visual for my media writing class at NTU. Most of the students use MacBooks and I wanted to marry the idea of the traditional craft of writing with technology.
The trick to doing such animations is to keep your background relatively clean (moving white clouds), reduce the movements of the subject (typing hands), and focus the viewer’s attention on your marketing copy (the statue’s quote).
The caveat is that to achieve this current quality, you need to pay subscription fees for all three apps. $10/mth for Midjourney, $12/mth for Runway, and up to $60/mth for Adobe CC (all prices in USD). The cost stacks up fast, but if you think about it, it’s still affordable for most businesses.
Don’t get me wrong, we need human designers and artists to wrangle the best out of these tools and create truly professional works. But every individual can now generate decent AI visuals and animations at their own pace and without breaking the bank.
